PBPS Journal Watch SOP (version 2/25/2021)
The Education Committee Chair and Executive team will be responsible for selecting the Journal Watch editor and reviewers (3 year term positions).
• A total of 8 reviewers will be recruited for this activity. In alphabetical order:

• The JW watch will be published bimonthly in PBPS website, during the last week of the month. Publication months are: February, April, June, August, October, and December.
• The Journal Watch editor will be responsible for sending an email to JW reviewers 2 weeks prior (1-5th of the month) summaries submission is due (15th of the month).
• Only in print articles (published) from the prior 2 months will be included.
• The JW will NOT include:
o case reports (unless they are describing a new entity
o clinical/epidemiological based papers
o basic science (any with animal models, organoids, etc)
• A maximum of 3-5 review articles will be considered per JW edition (will be discretionary to the JW editor to select the top 3-5 articles identified).
• The JW will have a maximum of 35 articles (total) per edition. Article will be listed numerically instead of organized per journal or site (ampulla, gallbladder, etc.).
• The email will designate which months will be reviewed and the deadline for submission will be clearly stated.
• The JW editor will collect all references/links from reviewers and compile them in a single document. The document will be sent via email to the Website Committee Chair (Mabel Ko, Serdar Baci) for publication and social media distribution.
• The website committee can tag members of the Education Committee and JW committee in social media to enhance visibility. https://twitter.com/pbpath
• The Education Committee will be copied in the email for notification.
